Born in 1976 in the suburbs of Paris, Geoffroy Staquet is a French writer and dramaturge whose career bridges the worlds of architecture, contemporary art, and dance. He holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Université Paris X (1998) and a Master’s in Art History and Communication from Université Montpellier III (2000).
After working in several contemporary art centers as a mediator and writer for visual artists, Geoffroy turned his focus to architecture. During this period, he also taught intermittently at the École d’Architecture de Montpellier.
In 2008, Geoffroy joined Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo under the direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot, contributing to the centenary celebrations of the Ballets Russes. For the past 16 years, he has served as Head of Graphics and Publications, crafting a visual and literary narrative for one of the Principality’s most prestigious cultural institutions.
Geoffroy has written and co-authored numerous acclaimed works, including Le Centenaire des Ballets Russes (Gallimard, 2011), the dramaturgy for Coppél-i.A. (2019) and Ma Bayadère (2025), as well as the 2024 monograph Jean-Christophe Maillot – La Danse en Festin (Gallimard). Across all his work, writing remains the core of his creative practice.
