About Dr. Virginia Nizza
Dr. Nizza holds a DPhil (PhD) in International Relations from the University of Oxford. Her doctoral research explores the intersection of international relations and technology policy, focusing on the geopolitical dynamics of the US-China tech rivalry. Her work was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council and the Balliol College Dervorguilla Scholarship. Dr. Nizza also holds an MPhil in International Relations with Distinction from the University of Oxford and a BA in International Relations with First Class Honours from the War Studies Department at King’s College London. She has interned as a Technology Strategist at CrowdStrike, analysing competitive technologies and cyber policies, and co-founded the Oxford China Policy Lab, an interdisciplinary hub for China-focused research. Dr. Nizza’s work provides insights into the foreign policy dimensions of technology, influencing policy and strategic decision-making in global technological competition.
